Trabajé con un gran patron

November 8, 2008

Those who know spanish Emily should probably correct me.  I have very little skills in this area.  I spent the whole day in Mexico building a house for a family of 3.  A single mom, and her two kids.  I have never built a house there before… The only missions work I have done in Mexico is work at an orphanage.  I’ll be honest, I’m not the most handy person in the world, but I manned-up and did my part.  It was great getting dirty and serving someone in need.  The group I went with was great too.  We had a blast, cracked jokes the entire time, and worked very hard.  There were three guys who live in Mexico who headed up this project.  Their names are Ernesto, Chewey (hehe), and Alejandro.  They were loads of fun and were super patient with us during our many screw ups.  The only down side to the day was leaving Mexico.  We spent two hours waiting in line to cross the border.  Though I did enjoy some cherro’s.  And the GIGANTIC Jesus crucifix’s weren’t too shabby either.  I seriously almost bought one.

I saved the best for last.  If you’ve never had Mexican Coke, you’re missing out.  So much better than what we have here.

That’s all for now.  I’m speaking at the Lake Hill’s Church youth group tomorrow morning.  I’m excited but kind of nervous.  Looking forward to another good day tomorrow though.

I have a big-ish announcement to make tomorrow.  A few of you might already know.  Ok, it’s really not that big of a deal, but now I’m even more excited for Copeland’s show on Tuesday night.
