Shalom pt. 2

So I’ve done a lot of reading on the Hebrew language this past week trying to make sure my tattoo doesn’t end up saying something stupid.  Thanks to Andrew, Joe, and Matt for verifying my last request.  I learned that the little markings/dots found above and below Hebrew characters are called Nikkud (or Niqqud) and were used to help pronounce the word correctly and weren’t used until later centuries.  Meaning its not original, and well… they don’t use it much today.  In fact, no where in the Dead Sea Scrolls were any Nukkudot markings.

So now I’m thinking about having a non-nikkud shalom tattoo.  Here is the latest design:
